Visiting Assistant Professor of Music
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Division of Music is seeking applicants for a nine month, full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Collaborative Pianist beginning August 2021.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate students in class piano and applied piano and additional courses as needed by the department within the candidate's area of expertise. The successful candidate will serve as rehearsal and performance pianist for two choral ensembles and the music theatre workshop program and also accompany faculty recitals and student senior recitals. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a positive relationship with music educators in the region, including active participation in local, regional, state, and national music organizations and effectively recruit piano students. Teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Education/Qualifications:
- An earned Master of Music degree in piano performance, collaborative piano, or a related field is required. An earned Doctorate in collaborative piano or a related field is preferred.
- The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills with piano including experience
with accompanying ensembles and individuals.
