Why live on campus?
- Live with other Weevils. Living on campus is the fastest and most convenient way to meet new and interesting people from all over the world!
- Live close. Why live near campus when you can live on campus! With close access to classes, go ahead and hit your snooze button.
- Built-in community. College can be fun but also challenging. Choosing to live in the residence halls comes with a support system of friends and in-hall staff, allowing stronger ties to be made within the community.
- Never miss out. Living on campus means greater access to lectures, concerts, sporting events, and more social events than you could ever imagine.
- Meal plans. Eat at any of the three dining locations on campus. Choose from the University Center, Chick-fil-A, and the Boll Weevil Bistro, which offers provisions on demand and also serves Starbucks Coffee.
- Flexible living terms. Don't sign a 12-month off-campus apartment lease — our 9-month academic year contract covers just what you need.
- No hidden costs. At first look, living off campus may seem less expensive. However, when considering all costs (rent, food, water, electricity, internet/cable, furniture, and maintenance) living on campus can be cheaper and is included in one convenient bill!
- Live secure. The University Police Department is on call and patrolling our campus 24/7, every day of the year. They protect our students and their property. Residence Halls are staffed with Resident Directors and Resident Assistants who are on duty all the time. Surveillance cameras are located throughout the campus for added security.
- Academic success. Compared to students who live off campus, those who live on campus have higher GPAs, tend to graduate at a higher rate, and finish college sooner than non-residents.
- Live UAM! Experience the complete package of college life at UAM by showing your Weevil pride. Make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
