Counseling services are provided at no cost to students currently attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Sessions are typically available Monday – Friday, during the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM during Fall and Spring semesters.

We strive to make the UAM Counseling Services a safe place where individuals can strengthen
their self-acceptance, confidence, and comfort with their own individual identities.

Outreach Workshops

Programs are planned by the Counseling Services Office each semester.  These programs are advertised campus-wide. 

A range of issues that Counseling Services may be helpful with include:

  • conflict resolution
  • problem solving
  • feeling stressed out or anxious
  • difficulty adjusting
  • have something you've never told anyone but feel you should
  • received counseling in the past and considering services again
  • binge drink or use drugs
  • eating too much or too little
  • feel as though you can’t go on
  • relationship issues

E-mail is not a confidential form of communication. In order to ensure confidentiality and protect your privacy, clinical services cannot be provided through email. All clients are encouraged to contact UAM Counseling Services for scheduling, confirming, and cancelling appointments.

The UAM Counseling Services are available to help with questions and more. We provide a safe, confidential space for students to process life’s changes. College can be a time for important decisions, and the counselor can help empower you to make those decisions, without making them for you.

Appointments can be made during hours of operation in person or by phone at (870) 460-1554. Sessions are typically 30-50 minutes in length, and drop-in counseling sessions are also generally available to accommodate students experiencing emergency or crisis situations.
