Bio:
Dr. Arturo Quintero Ferrer is an assistant professor of Biology here at UAM. He is also the assistant director of the Research Programs for Minority Students.
“My teaching interests are Genetics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Introduction to Biology.”
“My research interest is plant pathology. Within this, my interests are more specifically basic and applied research, host-pathogen interactions, micropropagation of crops with added value for farmers in the state of Arkansas, pathogen detection, strain differentiation and control of pathogens in Arkansas related crops, and virus diseases of importance in major Arkansas crops. “
“The best thing about my job is that I am being given the opportunity to share my passion for science with students. To see them grasp complex molecular concepts, connect the dots, and develop their own research is extremely rewarding.”
