The 2024 graduates of the Practical Nursing program at the University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-McGehee (UAM-CTM) recently achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). This marks the twelfth consecutive year that all graduates have passed the exam.  

The December 2024 program cohort includes Kaitlin Burton, McKinzy Dunn, Tyneshia Kilgore, Moesha Livingston, Rachel Scucchi, Daryn Spencer and BreAmber Wallace.

Anna Scales, instructor of practical nursing at UAM-CTM, stated, “I am thrilled to see these seven students enter the nursing profession. I have seen the hard work, time and dedication they have each invested over the past year, and I have no doubt we will continue to see big things from each of them.”

Paisley Owyoung, director of Allied Health at UAM-CTM, expressed her pride, stating, “I am beyond proud of these ladies. They put in a lot of hard work to get to this point. This is just the beginning of their success in the nursing profession. I wish them the best, and I am proud to have them represent the UAM College of Technology-McGehee Practical Nursing program. I cannot go without recognizing the amazing instructors that helped them achieve this success. Anna Scales and Anita Walker are two of the most dedicated nurse educators, and Annie Smith is an excellent adjunct clinical instructor. They go above and beyond to help our students and are passionate about ensuring our students graduate as safe, competent nurses who will be an asset to healthcare.” 

The Practical Nursing program at UAM-CTM is a 12-month course of study requiring 42 credit hours to graduate. Students complete over 800 hours of clinical work in various healthcare settings. Nursing clinicals are supervised sessions in which students apply their classroom knowledge in real-world environments.

For three consecutive years, the program has been recognized as the top practical nursing program in Arkansas by PracticalNursing.org, the nation’s leading licensed practical nursing advancement and ranking agency. This recognition is based on multiple factors that represent how well a program supports students toward licensure and beyond. One of the largest factors is the past and present first-time NCLEX pass rates of students in the program.
