UA System Board of Trustees Chairman Gibson Visits UAM Political Science Class
On April 15, University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees Chairman C.C. "Cliff" Gibson III, of Monticello, attended UAM’s American Presidency course, taught by Dr. John Davis, associate professor of political science. The visit was part of an initiative to bring members of the UA System Board of Trustees into university classrooms to engage with students and faculty. Gibson shared his legal experiences and participated in discussions with students during the class.
Gibson is the founder of Gibson & Keith Law Firm and serves as the county attorney for Drew County, Arkansas. He attended UAM and earned his Juris Doctorate degree at the UALR Bowen School of Law.
The Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas System, comprised of 10 trustees representing each of the state’s four congressional districts, is the institution’s governing body. The board sets policy for all universities, colleges and institutes within the system. Trustees are appointed by the governor of Arkansas to 10-year overlapping terms. Gibson’s term expires in 2023.
