Instructions for STUDENTS TRANSFERRING TO UAM

Financial aid does not automatically transfer with you.  You must apply for financial aid at your new school. If you plan to transfer to UAM, you must:

  • Notify your current school’s Financial Aid Office in writing of your intention to transfer so that pending financial aid can be cancelled
  • Add UAM school code (001085) to your FAFSA application online. (allow 3-5 days to process)
  • If your FAFSA is selected for Verification, you will need to complete verification forms at UAM.  Review your WeevilNet To Do list for specific instructions.
  • Once Federal Aid is calculated, you will receive an Award Letter by e-mail to sign and submit.
  • Finalize your registration.

INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR Transfer Students

  • $3,000 award per semester for a maximum of four semesters of continuous enrollment.
  • Out-of-state tuition is waived.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Student transferring from an accredited community college with at least 60 transferable hours and no more than 80 transferable hours at the 1000-level or above  and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Student must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program at UAM.
  • No funds are available for a graduate program.
  • Renewal criteria: Complete at least 15 hours each semester with a minimum 2.5 GPA at UAM to renew for an additional year.

Students who are first-time freshmen at another school may transfer to UAM in the first spring semester of that year and receive a freshman institutional award.  An institutional award equal to what would have been offered from UAM at the time of admission as a first-time freshman.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Complete at least 12 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA at current institution, apply for admission, and provide an official college transcript.
  • Renewal criteria: Complete at least 15 hours each semester and maintain a 2.5 GPA at UAM.

This award will not be extended beyond a total of 8 terms (from all schools attended). Contact the Scholarship Coordinator at finaid@uamont.edu, or the Director of Admissions at admissionsoffice@uamont.edu for additional information.

Students interested in transferring to UAM may be eligible to receive an institutional award.

$2,000 award per semester for completion of at least 36 transferable and no more than 60 transferable hours combined from all colleges attended. A minimum 2.5 grade point average is required.

$1,000 award per semester for completion of at least 24 transferable and no more than 35 transferable hours combined from all colleges attended. A minimum 2.5 grade point average is required.

Renewal criteria:

  • Complete at least 15 hours each semester with a minimum 2.5 GPA at UAM to renew.
  • Renewal criteria: Complete at least 15 hours each semester and maintain a 2.5 GPA at UAM.
  • This award will not be extended beyond a total of 8 terms (from all schools attended).
  • The award cannot be used for graduate level courses.

  • Eligibility Requirements: Students who have been out of school for at least 2 years and have a 2.5 Cumulative GPA from their previous school. Transfer and readmits are eligible for this scholarship.
  • No funds are available for a graduate program.
  • This scholarship is a one-time payment for the first Fall or Spring semester the student enrolls at UAM. It does not renew and is non-refundable. No scholarships are awarded during the summer terms and cannot be bundled with other institutional scholarships.
  • Students must be meeting UAM’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.

  • Out-of-state tuition is waived for residents of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Missouri. An out-of-state waiver is available to students from other states, when a student receives an institutional, performance, or athletic scholarship in an amount equal to tuition for a minimum of 12 hours in the fall and spring terms.
  • Waiver is applied when the student registers for classes.


Transfer your State Aid Scholarship

If you are transferring schools, it is very important that you let us know. In order to request a transfer in your YOUniversal account, you can log in at https://sams.adhe.edu/  and select “Change Schools.” The deadlines to request a transfer are October 1 for the fall semester and February 1 for the spring semester. Please note that you may only transfer your scholarship to an approved Arkansas institution of higher education. View a list of eligible, approved Arkansas colleges.
